Life isn't about Finding yourself,
it's about CREATING YOURSELF

Daniel Lawrence was born in Covina, California in 1964, at an early age he developed a passion for coloring and drawing. To this day, he has a fascination with Crayola® crayons. Through the encouragement of his mother, he continued to develop his talents and his unique meticulous attention to detail. His elementary years were spent making up his own fantastic "ODD ROD" drawings from the bubble gum trading cards he would get, along with sketching out hot rod muscle cars and occasionally enhancing his school textbooks. Eventually, Dan moved from school-ruled paper to a larger canvas, such as his bedroom wall. Yes, his amazing mother allowed this as long as it was in good taste.

In high school, Dan’s talents were focused on art, ceramics and auto shop. In his senior year (1982), he sculpted a clay dragon and placed first at the County Fair.  Later he donated it to his alma mater “Hartland High” in Brighton, Michigan.  After graduation, he moved back to California with his family.  He continued his education at Citrus College where he enrolled in art classes.  This is where his hand was introduced to his lifelong companion “The Airbrush”. Little did he know where it would lead him in the years to follow.

In 1984, Dan entered into the music industry working as a machinist assistant for Charvel/Jackson in San Dimas, California.  An opportunity opened for him to demonstrate his artistic ability and over time Dan became one their main graphic artists.  In 1987, B.C. Rich Guitars employed Dan as their main graphic artist where he watched the music industry escalate with big hair and screaming guitars.  By 1989, Dan inevitably decided to become a free-lance artist where he could share his talents with others. It was then that he started up “DRL Graphics”.

Dan has truly been blessed with his creative artistic abilities amongst his many other modest unspoken talents in life.  In 1993, he married his wife Kim and they have two amazing children, who have picked up some of Dan’s artistic creativity. However, they are NOT allowed to draw on their bedroom walls!

Dan is renowned for being a graphic perfectionist and his extraordinary attention to detail.  Today, Dan works out of his shop/studio in San Dimas, California, where he’s available to musicians as well as the top guitar manufacturers such as Charvel/Jackson, Fender, Ibanez, Schecter, GMW Guitars, Tom Anderson, B.C. Rich, and many other music industry manufacturers and clients.  * For a complete list check out the Client page.

Dan continues to be inspired by his vision and passion for the music industry.  His desire is to create unique, one-of-kind guitar masterpieces along with creating his clients’ aspirations by turning their vision and imagination into a tangible reality.
